Nurturing Young Hearts to Grow in Faith

Partnering with Families to Make Disciples

Celebrating the Joy of Children’s Ministry and God’s Love for the Next Generation

At FBC Cairo, our Kids Ministry exists to come alongside families in the discipleship of their children. We believe that growing in faith is a journey best taken together — church and home working hand-in-hand to help children know and follow Jesus.

Sunday Mornings:

During Sunday School, we use The Gospel Project — a three-year chronological study of the Bible that helps kids see God’s big story unfold. Each lesson also includes a weekly missions emphasis, helping children develop a heart for sharing the Gospel around the world while also learning about some of our IMB and NAMB missionaries.

Wednesday Evenings:

Our midweek program, Bible: Skills, Thrills, and Drills, is designed to teach children how to use and understand their Bibles through interactive activities, crafts, music, and games. It’s a fun, energetic way to build strong biblical foundations paired with some scripture memorization from Awana

Children’s Musicals:

For kids who love the stage, we offer opportunities to participate in children’s musicals. These performances are typically showcased during the Christmas season and to help promote Vacation Bible School. If you would like more information about getting involved see Mrs. Jennifer.

Summer Activities:

Our summer calendar is filled with exciting events and camps that help children connect with God and each other:

  • Associational Boys and Girls Camp- is a fun-filled, Christ-centered week where kids grow in their faith and understanding of what it means to be godly boys and girls. Through Bible teaching, worship, and hands-on missions experiences, kids learn how to live out their faith in everyday life. The week is packed with exciting games, outdoor adventures, and opportunities to build lasting friendships — all in a safe and encouraging environment. It’s a powerful time of spiritual growth, fun, and discovery!
  • Vacation Bible School (VBS)- is a high-energy, Gospel-focused week where kids dive into Scripture, discover God’s truth, and have an absolute blast! Each day is packed with engaging Bible lessons, worship, crafts, games, snacks, and missions — all built around a fun, immersive theme that helps kids connect God’s Word to their everyday lives. VBS at FBC Cairo is one of the most exciting weeks of the summer, and it’s open to all children in our community. Join us as we point kids to Jesus in a way they’ll never forget!
  • CentriKid Camp- an overnight summer camp for 2nd–6th graders where kids experience high-energy worship, interactive Bible study, and unforgettable fun — all centered on the message of the Gospel. Hosted by Lifeway, CentriKid is designed to help kids grow in their faith through age-appropriate teaching, meaningful worship, and intentional relationships with leaders and peers. From exciting recreation to quiet time with God, every moment at camp is created to point kids toward Jesus. It’s a week they’ll never forget!

Milestones & Celebrations:

In August, we celebrate Promotion Sunday as children move up to new classes in line with the school year. A special part of this day is our 1st Grade Bible Presentation Ceremony, where we welcome those moving from our Preschool Ministry into the Children’s Ministry. December, we spend the month learning about and celebrating the birth of Jesus. Each February on Super Bowl Sunday, our Kids Ministry hosts the epic Cereal Bowl Showdown! Kids try their favorite cereals to compete in a fun, bracket-style tournament where one cereal is crowned champion. The morning is full of excitement, complete with referees, team spirit, and plenty of cereal sampling. It’s a great way to kick off Super Bowl Sunday with some sweet fun and friendly competition! Palm Sunday is a special celebration as our kids parade through the sanctuary waving palm branches, remembering how the crowds welcomed Jesus into Jerusalem with shouts of “Hosanna!” It’s a joyful, hands-on way for children to experience the beginning of Holy Week. On Easter Sunday, our kids dive into the heart of the Gospel as we learn about the cross and the miracle of the empty tomb. One of the highlights is making and enjoying Resurrection Rolls — a sweet, interactive treat that helps children understand the story of Jesus’ resurrection in a way they’ll never forget!

Investing in Families:

We believe discipleship doesn’t stop with children — it includes the whole family. Throughout the year, we host a variety of fun and meaningful family events like game nights, movie nights at the theater, homemade ice cream socials, and chili cook-offs. We also offer parenting and marriage seminars to encourage and equip families to thrive spiritually and relationally.

We’re excited to walk alongside your family as we grow in Christ together!
